Kootenay Cup – Nelson

It’s not too often that I get to watch races, but after traveling home from Gatineau QC only four days ago, I was stuck on the side lines for the 2012 Kootenay Cup in my hometown of Nelson, BC. Aside from myself and David Palmer – who was also in QC, all of the Black Jack team attended and put on a great show. Some of the older athletes were feeling fatigue from all of the racing lately, but everyone raced well. It’s worth noting that my bro, Peter, decided to challenge himself by racing on classic skis in the skate race. It was a gutsy move as the conditions were slow and slippery, but it certainly gave him an opportunity to test his limits!
