MSA NorAm

After two weeks spread out around the country, Team Blackjack’s Senior Men reunited for the Mont St Anne NorAm late January. For David, Colin and Scott the weekend was a great opportunity to collect NorAm points and put in some great distance races, while Julien’s full focus was aimed three weeks later at the U23 World Champs.

David lead the team on Day 1 with a 16th place finish (7th U23) in the Senior Men’s 10km Classic. Colin finished 21st, Scott 23 and Julien 24.

Day 2 was a Pursuit Start 15km Skate. In typical fashion for a skate distance, David blasted out of the start and skied the 3rd fastest time of the day, finishing 6th (2nd U23) in the overall 2 day Pursuit. With the 30km Skiathlon being cancelled at the U23 Trials two weeks prior, it was great for David to get a chance to show his strength in head-to-head racing. Colin rounded out the weekend in 16th position, Julien 24th and Scott 25th overall.

Following the races, the team stayed on in MSA for a few day of training before driving back to Ottawa for the Eastern CND Championships.
