The 2015/2016-race season kicked off on December 2nd in Canmore Alberta. Both the junior and senior race teams were in attendance for the first Noram races of the season. Race Programs consisted of a classic interval start; skate mass start and classic sprint in Canmore and a skate sprint and interval start in Vernon. These Canmore and Vernon competitions would serve, as some of the qualification races for the Canadian ski tour world cup at the end of the season for are U23 men’s team. On the junior side the Canmore classic sprint and Vernon interval start skate would decide Canada’s youth Olympic team which Sage Remi and Michaela were eligible for. Over the course of the two weekends the weather varied wildly in Canmore conditions were warm and on the final race day (the classic sprint) Mother Nature was not being kind with the temperature around 0 degrees Celsius and the sky snowing/raining, waxing was a challenge. In contrast Vernon was a winter wonderland with fresh snow everyday. These first two weekends were great for getting the team back into race season mode, the team hopes to continue and improve on the success of these races.
