Racers from Black Jack Ski Team all had impressive performances at the Western Canadian Championships in Canmore Ab, racing against the hottest racers from across the country. Julien Locke powered through the demanding sprint course for an impressive race, finishing 4th in the A Final, barely off of the podium. Susanne Fraser had a strong sprint, lunged 1.5 seconds ahead of teammate Jill Reynolds. Both were only seconds off first place. All top five competitors in the Junior Boy category were within five seconds of the podium. Shawn Degroot was 2.6s off of a medal. David Palmer was on fire all weekend, landing on the podium twice for individual stages and finished an impressive second place in the Junior Men’s overall. All Black Jack skiers carried the momentum through the weekend mini tour to many top finishes in the two distance races.
