Haig Glacier

After a summer of differing schedules and various programs, Team Black Jack came together mid August for a week of high altitude training at the Haig Glacier. With volume and on-snow technical work as the team’s main focus, the Haig delivered a perfect training location and everything went according to plan. The daily schedule ranged from 2 – 5 hours with a mix of skiing, hiking, running, strength and speed work. Every athlete worked hard and with no exception, the training was a success. As per usual, no Haig camp is complete without endless games of crib, poker, disc golf and Shawn’s addition to the card games: Kanaska.

Next up for Team Black Jack is a trip to Mt Assiniboine for more running and hiking at altitude in the beautiful national park.

Many thanks for coaches Dave Wood and Dave Reynolds as well as Haakon and Joel for running the camp.

Action photos mostly by Dave, plus a few by Peter and Julien
