As a kickstart to the new training season, a small portion of Team Black Jack spent five days mid-May at Silver Star to capitalize on the available skiing at Sovereign Lakes. With days consisting of long skis on snow in the morning, and weights, rollerskiing or ski-striding intensity in the afternoon, we were able to put in a good chunk of volume and focus on making technical and physiological gains.

Colin Ferrie of Kimberly BC will be joining Team Black Jack for the upcoming season. Having spent the past two year at the CVTC in Whistler,  Colin will now be training under the guidance of Dave Wood. As long time friends, it is great to have Colin on the team and everyone is excited for the opportunity to train together. You can find out more about Colin at www.colinferrie.ca.

Many thanks to the Sovereign Lakes Nordic Centre for maintaining the trails and keeping them in great order despite the hot temperature and dwindling snowpack. Very impressive!
