BC Cup 2 – West Kelowna

On January 11 the Team Black Jack drove over to Kelowna for the second installment of the Teck BC Cup series. Held at Telemark Ski Club in West Kelowna, the weekend consisted of a classic sprint and a skate interval start. The first day was the sprint. The course was quite flat with temperatures around -10 it made for fast racing. The interval start skate was held Sunday. The course for this race had the exact opposite terrain of the first day with lot of climbing and twisty corners, however the snow was relatively fast thanks to similar temperatures of the first day. Results wise, Black Jack had our biggest medal haul of this year with 4 golds, 2 silvers, and 4 bronze. This included several break through results for the younger athletes. Every one put in a hard fight and made the weekend a success.
